Part-Time Driver

If you are interested in Part time employment, enjoy working with people, and have a safe driving record, this may be the right job for you. You must be able to pass D.O.T. physical, Pre-Employment Drug test and have the ability to drive for extended periods of time.  Hours of operation are from 4:45 AM through 9:00 pm.  Shifts vary daily. $12.86 per hour. Safety Compliance Officer/Driver
Reports to: Associate Administrator
GENERAL PURPOSE:
Plan, organize, and supervise all aspects of the training and safety programs of the transit system, including development and implementation of on-going training and safety programs for all driving personnel. Works in partnership with Logistics Coordinator on compliance Primarily drives as needed.
CLASSIFICATION SUMMARY:
Supervises all of transit’s training and safety including field monitoring of bus operators to ensure adherence to standards and safety compliance. Plans and schedules training and safety programs
and remedial or refresher training. Responsible for all dent investigation. Stays current on state and federal regulations and assures that the route service remains in compliance with all
regulations. monitors assigned bus and van operators to  ensure safe and efficient service operations Oversees Driver Safety Associate and develops training programs for drivers and support personnel.. Reports to the Associate Administrator. 
ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLES OF ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Drives as scheduled.
Monitors field operations to assure compliance with performance standards and safety regulations.
Assesses training needs of demand response and contractual rides,  van operators; develops, schedules, assigns to Driver Safety Associate or conducts operational and safety training; evaluates the effectiveness of each training program by reviewing post-training testing or on-the-job observation. Prepares and maintains legible and concise activity logs, training records, accident reports and other documents relevant to transit operations.
Investigate public complaints concerning customer services, driver actions, service issues and vehicle safety. Provides on-site investigation of accidents and interviews operators, witnesses, to determine cause and recommends appropriate remedial actions to prevent future accidents.
Oversees the Driver Safety Associate in conducting new driver training.
Confers with Logistics Coordinator when needed in order to recommend personnel actions to the Associate Administrator.
Provides input relevant to field transit issues regarding evaluations of bus and van operators.
Available all operation hours.

Experience requirements:
Collage experience.
Experienced in training.
Large Vehicle Training and experience.
5 years of Supervisory Experience.
Computer and communication skills.
